Pool is a colloquial name for the game more formally known as pocket billiards or six pockets. The origins of the game are unrevealed, but it is known as a family sport also utilized in social night spots and taverns. It is in the family of cue sports and games played on a pool table having six receptacles or pockets into which balls are deposited using cue sticks with precise angles. Mr. Howell confesses he has dickered and bartered many deals over the game. He also goes as far as using the game to finagle ownership of the Tehechapuku Oil and Mining Corporation away from Gilligan after it becomes profitable.
