The Pottery Wheel was an island invention created for molding cups and dishes. It's not sure who designed and built it. Mary Ann alludes to building it, but if she did, the Professor might have assisted her in its construction. She devises the method to mold new dishes with Ginger from plastic material that washes up on shore.
