Emily was a migratory duck that landed on the Island during a blight that affected the plants growing on the island. Originally named "Everett" until she laid an egg, Gilligan protected Emily from being slaughtered and served to the Castaways, provoking a dream where he was a marshall torn between duty and survival. Eventually, the Skipper ordered Gilligan to serve up Emily, but he managed to stall for time until the Castaways started to feel guilty. When Emily was found eating safe plants on the island, she managed to save the Castaways after all.

- Gilligan also has a pet duck named Gretchen in Allergy Time. His other local pets include Irving, Sam The Parrot, Gladys and a monkey.
